1. Our Mission

PocketSEO is a free, curated knowledge base of actionable SEO tips from real practitioners. Our goal is to collect the most useful SEO advice shared across the web and organize it into a searchable, categorized resource for solo founders, indie hackers, and small business owners.

We believe good SEO advice shouldn't be locked behind expensive courses or agency retainers. Every tip on PocketSEO is accessible without login or payment.

2. How We Select Tips

Tips are sourced from publicly shared SEO advice on Twitter/X, Reddit, YouTube, blogs, podcasts, and conference talks. We look for:

  • Practitioner origin β€” The advice comes from someone who has implemented it themselves, not just theorized about it.
  • Actionability β€” The tip describes a specific action a site owner can take, not a vague principle.
  • Current relevance β€” The advice reflects current search engine behavior and best practices. Outdated tactics (keyword stuffing, link schemes, etc.) are rejected.
  • Verifiability β€” Claims can be checked against Google's documentation, industry consensus, or reproducible results.

We reject tips that promote manipulative tactics, violate search engine guidelines, or lack a credible source.

3. Quality Review Process

Every tip goes through a multi-step review before publication:

  1. Discovery β€” A tip is identified from a trusted source or community discussion.
  2. Verification β€” The advice is cross-referenced against Google's official documentation, industry-standard resources, and practical experience.
  3. Formatting β€” The tip is rewritten for clarity while preserving the original insight. Jargon is simplified where possible.
  4. Metadata tagging β€” Each tip is tagged with category (e.g., Technical SEO, Content Strategy), difficulty level (beginner, intermediate, advanced), expected impact (quick-win, medium-effort, long-term), and target platform.
  5. Source attribution β€” The original author, platform, and link are recorded. Engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments) are preserved when available.
  6. Publication β€” The tip is published and included in the sitemap, RSS feed, and relevant category/tag pages.

4. Source Attribution

Every tip on PocketSEO credits its original source. We display:

  • The author's name or handle
  • The platform where the tip was originally shared
  • A direct link to the original post or content (when available)
  • Engagement metrics from the original platform

We do not claim authorship of tips sourced from others. If you are the original author and want a tip updated or removed, contact us at [email protected].

5. Update & Review Cadence

SEO is a fast-moving field. To keep our content accurate:

  • New tips are added on an ongoing basis as quality advice is discovered.
  • Existing tips are reviewed periodically, especially after major algorithm updates or changes to search engine guidelines.
  • Outdated tips are flagged and either updated to reflect current practices or removed if no longer applicable.

6. Correction Policy

If you spot an error, outdated advice, or misleading information on PocketSEO:

  • Email [email protected] with the tip URL and a description of the issue.
  • We review all correction requests and aim to respond within 7 days.
  • Confirmed errors are corrected promptly. Significant corrections are noted on the tip.

7. AI Usage Disclosure

PocketSEO uses AI tools in the following ways:

  • Content processing β€” AI assists with formatting, summarizing, and structuring tips for consistency. The core advice always originates from human practitioners.
  • Metadata generation β€” AI helps generate meta descriptions and categorize content based on the tip's subject matter.
  • SEO tools β€” Some of our browser-based tools use AI for analysis and recommendations.

AI does not replace editorial judgment. All published content is reviewed to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with our quality standards.
